A man in France sought revenge against another player who killed his ‘Counter-Strike’ character – by stabbing him in the chest with a kitchen knife.

Watch out who you kill in the virtual world, it may inspire someone to attack you in the real one.

That’s what happened to one Frenchman, who was stabbed and nearly killed by a fellow “Counter-Strike” player, according to London’s Telegraph.

Julien Barreaux reportedly spent six months looking for the person who killed his online character in a virtual knife fight, and eventually found the foe living only a few miles away in Cambrai, a town about 2 hours north of Paris.

The 20-year-old, armed with a real-life kitchen knife, went to the man’s house and brutally stabbed him in the chest. The victim, identified only as Mikhael, survived the assault after the blade missed his heart by less than an inch.

“Barreaux was arrested within the hour and told us he had wanted to see his rival wiped out for killing off his character,” a police officer testified at the trial, the Telegraph reported.

The overzealous video gamer will spend two years behind bars, and receive anger management therapy.

“You are a menace to society,” Judge Alexiane Potel said. “I am frankly terrified of the disproportionate reaction you could have if someone looked at you the wrong way in the street.”

A little about the new job.

As many of you know, the company I run with my step-brother-in-law has been struggling lately. The economy has put people in the “only fix it if it’s broke” mindset, and I really can’t blame them. So it became evident that I needed to find something to bring in some extra income, yet hopefully still allow me to devote time and energy into XLint. I stumbled upon an ad needing another driver/tech for a AAA subcontractor. The schedule is horrible. I work 4 days on and 4 days off, then 3 on and 3 off. The day’s go incredibly fast, but being on call at night can be a pain in the ass. There’s nothing like being awoke at 3am to go change a tire on I-4. That my friends, adds a new definition to adrenaline. I don’t recommend it, but there’s nothing quite like having a semi blow past you less than 8 feet away. I was seriously questioning my decision to take this job until today. Today was one of those days that put life into perspective…

Today I received the one call that chills your bones.. Yepp, baby trapped in a locked car. I got on scene in about 7mins and it took every bit of control I had to not get freaked out by the 3 patrol cars, 2 security cars and ambulance. Even though I can get in a car in about 30 seconds, it still had me on edge. For those who are wondering, the baby was fine and just watching all the people from the car seat. The mother was hysterical as one can imagine. The cops gave me the nod as I pulled up, and with calming words to the mother I went to work. Providence was all around me as I did a picture perfect entry, and I still can’t believe how textbook it was. 45 seconds later the mother had her daughter in her one arm and the other arm around my neck. I can now understand the “hero” mentality and how easily people get caught up in it. Was I a hero at all? Nope. But to that one woman, I was the man of the year.

Today was very cool to be me……
