Different, but, well, yeah..

Many of you know that this last month has been a whirlwind of spiritual and emotional turmoil. After turning my back on my faith for more years than I care to think about, I’ve been given a chance to start redeeming myself. Please don’t think that I’m going to start preaching at anyone, for me at least, that was one of the things that chased me away in the first place. But I will say that for the first time in memory, I am experiencing a calm that I’ve never felt. Answers to questions I’ve had for many years are being answered. Forgiveness for actions and deeds has finally started to take effect.

I was lucky enough to be able to attend the yearly Christian Music Festival held at Disney last night. I had the same feelings of worthlessness that I struggle with when I walk into a place of worship. But a feeling of place and belonging started to take hold as soon as I entered. I walked around for hours with childlike wonder, here were thousands of people who didn’t care what you had done, or who you were. They were just happy that you were there to share in the praise. All in all it was another facepalm, another experience that told me I was someone special, and that I had a purpose beyond the day to day drudgery that we call life.

I say all this as a callout for those who might be struggling like I was. Those who really know me, know that I have done things, said things, and have conducted my life in a way that may be considered criminal and even evil. But I have found hope and you can too. I challenge you to download these albums and listen to them, you may surprise yourself.
